Waves
‘as long as sea beats on stone’. (A Gaelic expression of eternity) In April, I took a trip around the coast of Scotland visiting some of my favourite beaches. Lying awake at night listening to the trancelike rhythm of the sea, I became in awe of its constancy. Over and over the waves pounded the stones against the shore grinding them towards an eventual perfection. Any interaction with the sea is temporary, a transition, as were my visits. I left behind that constant rhythm knowing it would be there again next time. To communicate this awareness, I used creative techniques to capture the seascapes in a way that gave an artistic impression of the light catching the waves. Using slow shutter speeds, with movement blur to freeze the waves and enhance their lines, allowed me to capture both movement and transition in the images. These images are available as fine art prints or Art Panels. Send me an email on julsfraser@gmail.com for information.
